The Los Alamos Faith and Science Forum is a group of scientists, engineers, professionals, and laity helping people to think about science and religion, and the harmony and complementarity of these two modes of being and knowing, by providing information, education, and a framework for dialogue. All of us want to delve deeper into the discoveries and mysteries of religion and science, and see what we can learn together.
Every summer since 2014, we have presented lectures by local speakers and visiting scholars on topics at the intersection of science and religion. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, our summer lecture programs typically began with a light dinner, then a lecture by a local speaker, followed by table discussions. Since the pandemic began, our summer programs have taken place on-line using Zoom. These programs are centered around a particular theme for each summer. In addition to local speakers, we have occasionally broadened our discussions by inviting a visiting speaker of national stature to give evening lectures.
Our annual reports, beginning with the report for 2016, are available for download here.
